Originally from England, I lived overseas for many years before moving to Australia in 1996 and making my home here in South East Queensland. The countries I have lived in include Greece, Thailand, Iran and Japan, and I love the buzz of cross-cultural living.
My educational background is in History of Art and Linguistics. To me astrology is similar to linguistics in that it is the study of patterns, and it is very much a language of symbolism.
Astrology was my introduction to self-development and spirituality many years ago, when I realized that in order to heal I actually had to deal with my ‘stuff’, and that it wasn’t going to go away no matter how much I ignored it. The insights I gained from astrology fascinated me, particularly as they were so accurate.
After becoming a professional astrologer, studying with the Faculty of Astrological Studies (FAS) in London, I then did a Graduate Diploma in Counselling with the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) to further develop my skills.
I work with both astrology and holistic counselling, and find astrology invaluable in gaining deeper insight into the issues that my clients bring.
Much of my working life has been in adult education, and as well as seeing clients, I run astrology courses and workshops, bringing my skills and experience in teaching, course development and group facilitation to these workshops.
My professional journey has expanded over the past 5 years or so to include working with therapeutic and vibrational energy fields, in particular working with modalities such as Family Constellations, Shamanic Path & Practice, Voice Dialogue, the White Light Essences and the Light Frequency Essences.
More recently I have deepened my interest in relationship transformation to include the realm of sexuality, and studied with the Awakening Within Foundation to become a qualified Relationship and Sexuality coach. I am committed to the sexual health and wellbeing of individuals and couples, offering my skills as a relationship and sexuality coach to assist clients to fully open to love, with their sexual energy flowing freely, enjoying the bliss and ecstasy that is our birthright.
I am passionate about transforming the society we live in. One of the ways I do this is by being involved in programmes that offer contemporary rites of passage for young people. I work with the mothers and carers of the boys who are leaving on their Journey to Manhood programme, and facilitate the transition for these women while their sons are away at camp, before they return as young men. These programmes are community-based and support teenagers in their transition to responsible young adults – something I believe addresses the alienation of youth and is really changing our society for the better!
I am also involved with a number of community groups such as The Joining and Being Woman, and support both women and men to expand and heal at deep levels, through offering my services in workshops at various community gatherings.
