A time to take decisive action with unfolding events as the light of the Moon continues to grow.
Moon planting: The week following First Quarter Moon is ideal for planting fruiting vegetables.
Full Moon: Thurs 12 Dec 2019 at 3.12pm at 19 Gemini
A high energy time when things often come to fruition or events come to a head.
Moon planting: The week following Full Moon is the best time for planting root crops.
Last Quarter: Thurs 19 Dec 2019 at 2.56pm at 26 Virgo
A time of reorientation as the light of the Moon decreases, eventually going into the low-energy time of Old Moon just before the cycle begins again with the next New Moon.
Moon planting: The last week of the Moon cycle is the best time for weeding and composting.
Solar Eclipse New Moon: Thurs 26 Dec 2019 at 3.17pm at 4 Capricorn
A time of renewed energy as a new cycle starts, intensified by the eclipse.
Moon planting: The week following the New Moon is the best time for planting leafy greens.
The eclipses start on Boxing Day, but meanwhile take care from the Full Moon onwards as the energies start to build. Remember eclipses demand respect, as they often bring unexpected change into our lives! Take extra care this Christmas period!!

New Moon in Sagittarius Wed 27 Nov 2019, exact at 1.06am Queensland time (AEST) at 4 degrees Sagittarius (the previous day in Europe and the Americas)
Full Moon in Gemini Thurs 12 Dec 2019, exact at 3.12pm Queensland time (AEST) at 19 degrees Gemini
Skywatching Venus, Jupiter and Saturn can all be seen as Evening Stars in the western sky after sunset, with Jupiter the lowest. Venus catches up to Saturn by the Full Moon and from then on will be seen above Saturn. If you’re up early, you’ll see Mars and Mercury as Morning Stars in the east before sunrise.
The New Moon falls in Sagittarius in the early morning of Wed 27 Nov (the previous day in Europe and the Americas) bringing a fresh burst of enthusiasm for adventure and exploration, as well as the need to enjoy life to the full. This is a good time to start on a spiritual quest, a course of study or overseas travel – anything that expands your horizons.
Sagittarius is a Fire sign, warm and enthusiastic, naturally optimistic with an undying trust in the Universe. Sagittarians love to explore and go on adventures, not just for the fun of it, but because they’re also motivated by a quest to discover the meaning of life. Their sign is ruled by Jupiter, which gives them their boundless enthusiasm and confidence – and on the downside, a tendency to go over the top, take lots of risks and over-extend themselves, not knowing when or where to stop.
If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.
If you have a planet or significant chart point at 4 degrees of Sagittarius, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet symbolizes (eg relationships for Venus).
Remember to create your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 1.06am AEST.

The Phoenix, symbol of transformation & rebirth
The New Moon falls in Scorpio on Mon 28 Oct signalling the beginning of a major new cycle in self-empowerment and relating to others in a deep and passionate way. The sign of Scorpio is associated with rebirth – or more accurately with all stages in the three-fold journey of transformation: death, the passage through the underworld and then the rebirth, rising like the phoenix from the ashes of the old self. Scorpio represents the capacity for intense transformation and is the ultimate survivor.
This New Moon is closely opposite Uranus so unexpected twists are likely with events unfolding now, bringing surprises and sudden changes in direction that can be challenging. Uranus was discovered at the time of the French Revolution, and that’s the energy it brings to any situation, a rebellious even revolutionary energy that can be exciting or chaotic, perhaps both! Think of all the Extinction Rebellion protests going on at the moment and you get the idea, not to mention the chaos happening in the UK with regards to Brexit! At its most positive, Uranus brings a higher level of conscious awareness into our lives, waking people up with the insights it brings. Uranus is still in the early degrees of Taurus, the sign associated with Mother Earth, and as I’ve written before, the increasing awareness of the ecological damage we’re inflicting on our planet is one of the strongest current manifestations of this placement.
Scorpio is a Water sign, sensitive and feeling things at a very deep level. Scorpios are very loyal and dependable. The sign is ruled by the planet Pluto which gives them their characteristic intensity, and they are finely attuned to power issues, with a kind of X-ray vision that tells them who’s to be trusted (and who’s not). They will carry secrets to the grave, and so have a natural talent for confidentiality. When manifesting negatively though, they can be ruthless and power-hungry. You really don’t ever want to cross a Scorpio – like the scorpion, they are famous for that sting in their tail!
If your birthday is close to this New Moon (within a day either side), this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose. With Uranus opposite this New Moon, the Universe has been challenging you to wake up and reinvent yourself since May of this year and this will last till March of 2020, so this is a significant time for you, the half-way point in this development.
If you have a planet or significant chart point at 4 degrees of Scorpio, this marks the beginning of a new cycle for you in whatever that planet symbolises (eg relationships for Venus), including the ongoing challenge from Uranus.
Remember to create your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 1.38pm Queensland time (AEST).

Mercury goes retro on 31 Oct (UK)/1 Nov (Australia), the day of the Brexit no-deal!!!!! Classic!!! 😂😂😂
We’re already in the shadow of the upcoming Mercury retrograde period – you may have noticed things like losing your keys, leaving your phone at home by mistake, double-booking appointments – or forgetting them altogether. Yes it kicks in early, even though Mercury doesn’t actually go retro till 1 Nov (Australia)/31 Oct (Europe). And yes that date rings a bell because it’s the supposed Brexit no-deal date!
Mercury turning retrograde is really not a good date for Brexit! Remember George W Bush getting elected first time round? The election was on Tues 7 Nov 2000, the day of a Mercury station. The decision hung in the balance for weeks with recount after recount till it was finally resolved by the US Supreme Court and Bush was declared the winner, beating Al Gore who’d actually won a higher percentage of the popular vote. So it makes me wonder what might go down with Brexit – like so many things in political life these days, just when you think it can’t possibly get any worse, it does!
The Mercury retro period brings the potential for confusion, mistakes and delays. Double-check appointments and flight times, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK. This is not a good time to make any major purchases or sign contracts, unless you’re prepared to revise your plans – or take purchases back to the shop – down the track. The upside of Mercury retro is that it’s a great time to catch up on all your paperwork and reorganize so you can be more streamlined.
Mercury is retro until Thurs 21 Nov 2019 (AEST).
The Full Moon in Aries highlights our ability to be assertive and take action, yet it also calls for the need for balance between independence and co-operation with others.
The Full Moon is at 20 degrees Aries, so wherever this point falls in your chart is the area of your life that will be under the spotlight now!
The Full Moon is exact at 7.07am Queensland time (AEST) so the best time to celebrate will be the previous night when the energies are still building.
In Europe and the Americas the Full Moon will fall on Sun 13 Oct.

Supermoon New Moon in Libra Sun 29 Sept 2019, exact at 4.26am Queensland time (AEST) at 5 degrees Libra (28 Sept in Europe and the Americas)
Full Moon in Aries Mon 14 Oct 2019, exact at 7.07am Queensland time (AEST) at 20 degrees Aries (13 Oct in Europe and the Americas)
Skywatching At sunset, Jupiter and Saturn are high overhead. As the month progresses, Mercury and Venus are now seen as Evening Stars, appearing gradually higher in the western sky, with Mercury above Venus.
The Saturn-South Node conjunction has been taking a huge toll – both at the collective level and at the personal level for so many people. Saturn-South Node is a signature for loss, and with Pluto close by, the losses are being felt at the deepest level and require significant transformation for rebirth. The climate crisis demonstrations are just one example of this. Meanwhile we’re moving closer and closer towards the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of next January, which is bringing increasingly authoritarian, nationalist, right-wing approaches across the board. It’s all about Power and Control, but with conscious awareness, could so easily be about providing frameworks that empower people and encourage personal responsibility. Next year will see a number of other significant alignments as well, creating epoch-making transitions. More on this later.
This New Moon in Libra is the last of three consecutive Supermoon New Moons, where the Moon is closer to the Earth than usual and the energy of the New Moon is intensified. Any new cycles starting now will be enhanced by the energy of the Supermoon.
The New Moon falls in Libra in the early morning of Sun 29 Sept, starting a new cycle in your relationships and connections with others. It also brings a renewed emphasis on the need for harmony and fairness in all aspects of your life. Libra is the sign of the born diplomat, the mediator who can always see both sides of any issue. The symbol for Libra is the scales, where things can be weighed and balanced. With the New Moon in Libra, this lunar month is a good time to focus on restoring balance in your life, giving you the opportunity to consolidate the theme of the Equinox last month (see last month’s newsletter) by implementing whatever changes are required to bring your life back into harmony and balance.
Libra is an Air sign, sociable and communicative, with a huge need for fairness. It’s also one of the leadership signs, but it doesn’t need to be out in front – quite the contrary. The leadership style of Libra is inclusive and co-operative, making Libra an excellent leader. The challenge for Libra is decision-making! They are so good at seeing all sides of the question that reaching a final decision can be agony for them, especially when they’re trying to keep everyone happy. Because they hate disharmony, people-pleasing is often one of their main issues, not helped by their reluctance to confront and tackle any problem areas. Embracing more of the assertiveness of their opposite sign Aries can be really helpful.
If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.
If you have a planet at 5 degrees of Libra (within a degree either side), this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet symbolises (eg responsibility for Saturn).
Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 4.26am Queensland time (AEST) at 5 degrees Libra. If you’re in Europe or the Americas, the New Moon will fall on Sat 28 Sept.

We’re about to have a MEGA VIRGO Supermoon New Moon this Friday, with ALL the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) all in Virgo!!! 💫💫💫
Once Mercury goes into Virgo on Thurs 29 Aug at 5.48pm Qld time, we have all the personal planets apart from the Moon (ie Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars) all in Virgo. The Moon joins them on Fri 30 Aug at 9.57am as she too moves into Virgo, in the very last hours of the old lunar month before she joins with the Sun at 8.37pm that same night to form this month’s New Moon in Virgo … a MEGA VIRGO New Moon with ALL the personal planets in Virgo!!! And as if that weren’t enough, it’s also a SUPERMOON New Moon!!! Which makes the energies stronger than usual. Watch out for the tides at this New Moon! And for unusually strong urges to spring clean, tidy the house, go on that cleanse …. you get the idea!!! 💫💫💫
If you’re currently facing challenges in your life, an astrology session with me will give you clarity and insight into how to transform the energies around you now and journey through the next twelve months. And if you feel you’d benefit from ongoing support and guidance, I invite you to consider my exclusive Life Mastery – Astro*Coaching programme, where I work one-on-one with you on a regular basis to guide you through the upcoming energies. This MEGA VIRGO New Moon on Fri 30 Aug is the second of three New Moon SuperMoons in a row. A SuperMoon is when the Moon comes closer in her orbit round the Earth (which occurs every month) but when this closeness coincides with either a New or Full Moon (in this case a New Moon), her effects are felt much more strongly. Because this New Moon in Vigo is the closest of these three SuperMoons, the effects of this New Moon are enhanced and magnified. The tides are likely to be much higher than usual on this New Moon.
The Mega Virgo New Moon is likely to bring changes to the way we approach our everyday life. This is an excellent time to start a new health regime, and to bring a new sense of order into your life. If you’re thinking of going on a cleanse, or de-cluttering your house, this New Moon provides perfect timing, and may even demand it of you!! If you’re feeling an unusually strong urge to spring-clean and tidy up the place, you won’t be alone! There are SO MANY planets in Virgo at the moment it’s not funny!!!!! Virgo loves order more than anything, a place for everything and everything in its place.
Virgo is an Earth sign, cautious and practical, taking its time to create order (which it loves), and often has a tendency towards perfectionism. The challenge for Virgo is not getting lost in the detail (which it is so good at) and as a result, losing sight of the overall vision, the classic “can’t see the wood (ie forest) for the trees”.
If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.
Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 8.37pm Queensland time (AEST) at 6 degrees Virgo.

The Full Moon falls in Pisces on Sat 14 Sept 2019 at 21 degrees Pisces. This is a dreamy, romantic time which can bring a yearning for oneness and spiritual fulfillment. It can also be a wonderful time for creative projects to come to fruition. Just make sure you’re seeing things clearly and not as you’d wish to see them, through rose-coloured glasses! Pisces is very good at self-deception, and not so good on boundaries. Be careful of any Piscean tendencies to rescue other people – as opposed to empowering them. As the Confucian saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to fish and you feed him for life”. The Full Moon in Pisces urges us to find a balance between seeing the big picture and staying in touch with the details that ground the vision. The Full Moon is exact at 2.33pm AEST, so the best night for Full Moon celebrations will be the previous evening while the energies are still building.
The lovers Venus and Mars have been celebrating their somewhat rare union in Virgo on Sat 24 Aug, and they continue together in this sign for the next few weeks. For now, the lovers are in synch in a quiet and introspective way, tuned in to one another at a deep level and very much on the same page. After their reunion, Venus moves ahead of Mars and goes into Libra on Sat 14 Sept. Libra is very much at home in Libra as it’s one of the signs she rules, characterized by a sense of refined beauty and aesthetic harmony. She’s now feeling much more social than Mars, who stays in Virgo this whole lunar month, so there may be some friction between them after 14 Sept.
Saturn grinds to a halt on Wed 18 Sept following its recent retrograde period, ready to go direct again at 13 degrees Capricorn. If your birthday is close to 4 Jan or this degree is significant in your chart, you will have been feeling the heavy energy of Saturn sitting on this point for the previous 3 weeks, with a further three weeks to look forward to (!). The energy of Saturn asks us to re-evaluate the area of life it is currently contacting, to take full responsibility for ourselves and our actions, and to cut away any dead wood – which ultimately stimulates new growth. It is also very good at demanding that we do a reality check. The forward motion of Saturn enables us to test and put into practice over the next seven months whatever we have learned about social responsibility, self-discipline and material reality during its recent retrograde phase over the last four and a half months.
Meanwhile Pluto is pretty much stationary for the second half of Sept as it gears up to go direct at the beginning of October, so you may well be feeling the build-up of intensity, especially if you have chart points around 20 Capricorn. More about this in next month’s newsletter!
The Equinox falls on Mon 23 Sept 2019 at 5.50pm AEST. The theme of the Equinox is always about balance. This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length (equi-nox means ‘equal night’ in Latin), the Sun rises due east, and the seasons come to a point of balance. This Equinox is marked by the Sun moving into the zodiac sign of Libra, the sign associated with harmony, balance and fairness. In the Southern hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox, a time of rejoicing that winter is over and celebrating the birth of new life. With the Mega Virgo New Moon, this is an excellent time for a Spring Cleanse! The seasons are reversed in the Northern hemisphere of course, where this is the Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest celebration, giving thanks for the abundant crops produced by the summer months. Whether you are celebrating Spring or Autumn Equinox, this is a perfect time to reflect on your own life, explore what might be out of balance there and find a way to restore that, whether it’s in your relationships, your work or any other aspect of your life.
Looking ahead to next lunar month …
The next New Moon falls in Libra on Sun 29 Sept 2019 at 4.26am AEST (28 Sept in Europe and the Americas) at 5 Libra.
With love
Chirone
