The healing power of Chiron

I love the picture of Jacinda Ardern lighting up the world’s tallest building (see my post on FaceBook if you haven’t seen the photo), especially when you realise that the building is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE

The Astrology of the last few days reflects the healing that has been happening after the horrific events of the Christchurch mosque massacre last Friday – with the Sun coming to join Chiron in Aries just as Jacinda Ardern announced the ban on semi-automatic weapons.

Chiron is the archetype of the wounded healer – often a wounding has to happen, or be re-opened, in order for the healing to take place – so it can be a very painful process, but one that ultimately results in healing. The weapons ban came right on the Equinox, just as the Sun went into Aries (the sign associated with warfare and violence, in its negative manifestations) and approached the healing energy of Chiron at 1 degree Aries.

Then the following day, Friday, the Moslem holy day and exactly a week after the massacre, the Sun joined with Chiron – and what an amazing display of compassion and solidarity was shown not just in NZ but all around the world

So much healing has come from this nightmare

Supermoon Full Moon on the Equinox

The Full Moon falls on the Equinox – how wonderful is that synchronicity, we can celebrate both at once!  It’s also a Supermoon, the last in this current series of three Supermoons in 2019, so we may well get extreme weather events (again!) and of course emotions are likely to be running high.  As with all Supermoons, the Moon is closer to the Earth at that point, so she’ll appear larger and brighter in the night sky.

The Full Moon in Libra highlights our need to relate to others, yet it also emphasizes the need to find a balance between the needs of the self and the needs of the other, between the need for independence and the need for compromise. This Full Moon in Libra really reinforces and brings home the theme of the Equinox, the need to find balance in our lives.  The Full Moon falls at zero degrees Libra, so check the houses of your chart to see which part of your life is under the spotlight. The Full Moon is exact at 11.43am Queensland time (AEST) on Thurs 21 March, so the best time for celebrations, while the energy is still building, is the previous night.

EquinoxSolsticeThe Equinox falls earlier on the same day Thurs 21 March as the Sun moves out of dreamy Pisces and into action-oriented Aries.  The Equinox marks the change of the seasons, the time of year when day and night are of equal length and the seasons come to a point of balance.  This is a perfect time to explore what might be out of balance in your own life and find a way to restore that balance, whether it’s in your relationships, your work & family life, or any other aspect of your life.   The Equinox is exact at 7.58am Queensland time (AEST), so the previous day in Europe and the Americas.

Equinox

EquinoxThe Equinox falls on Sun 23 Sept at 11.54am AEST.

The theme of the Equinox is always about balance.  This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length (equi-nox means ‘equal night’ in Latin), the Sun rises due east, and the seasons come to a point of balance.

This Equinox is marked by the Sun moving into the zodiac sign of Libra, the sign associated with harmony, balance and fairness.

In the Southern hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox, a time of rejoicing that winter is over and celebrating the birth of new life. With the Virgo New Moon, this is an excellent time for a Spring Cleanse!

The seasons are reversed in the Northern hemisphere of course, where this is the Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest celebration, giving thanks for the abundant crops produced by the summer months.

Whether you are celebrating Spring or Autumn Equinox, this is a perfect time to reflect on your own life, explore what might be out of balance there and find a way to restore that, whether it’s in your relationships, your work or any other aspect of your life.

New Moon in Virgo 2017

Time to declutter, go on that cleanse

& bring balance into your life!!!

Adventure time for Scorpios

I’m over in England at the moment, so if you’re in Europe or the UK and would like a reading, it’s easier to negotiate time zones right now!  I’m still seeing clients from Australia – using Skype makes it really easy no matter where you are in the world.  If you’d like a consultation with me, simply book here.

The New Moon in Virgo on Wed 20 Sept is likely to bring changes to the way we approach our everyday life.  This is an excellent time to start a new health regime, or to bring a new sense of order into your life.  If you’re thinking of going on a cleanse, or de-cluttering your house, this New Moon provides perfect timing, and may even demand it of you.  Virgo loves order and has a tendency towards perfectionism.  The challenge for Virgo is not getting lost in the detail (which it is so good at) and as a result, losing sight of the overall vision, the classic “not being able to see the wood (forest) for the trees”.

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.

Remember to put out your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 3.30pm Queensland time (AEST) at 27 degrees Virgo.
