Eclipse season starts! New Moon in Scorpio 2021

The Phoenix, symbol of transformation & rebirth

We’re moving into eclipse season now with this New Moon in Scorpio, beginning the lead-up to the Lunar eclipse on 19 Nov.  The full 6-week period (see below) is a time when we need to be especially careful and stay really present and conscious, as accidents and other mishaps are much more common at this time.  Be mindful and take extra care!

The New Moon falls in Scorpio on Fri 5 Nov signalling the beginning of a major new cycle in self-empowerment and relating to others in a deep and passionate way.  The sign of Scorpio is associated with rebirth – or more accurately with all stages in the three-fold journey of transformation: death, the passage through the underworld and then the rebirth, rising like the phoenix from the ashes of the old self.  Scorpio represents the capacity for intense transformation and is the ultimate survivor.

ScorpioScorpio is a Water sign, sensitive and feeling things at a very deep level.  Scorpios are very loyal and dependable.  The sign is ruled by the planet Pluto which gives them their characteristic intensity, and they are finely attuned to power issues, with a kind of X-ray vision that tells them who’s to be trusted (and who’s not).  They will carry secrets to the grave, and so have a natural talent for confidentiality.  When manifesting negatively though, they can be ruthless and power-hungry.  You really don’t ever want to cross a Scorpio – like the scorpion, they are famous for that sting in their tail!

This New Moon falls exactly opposite Uranus, indicating that the New Moon could bring  shocks, surprises or upsets, maybe even that secrets could be revealed at this time – secrets that we’d expect to be linked to abuses of power. Watch the news carefully around this time! Stay tuned!

If your birthday is close to this New Moon (within a day either side), this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.

If you have a planet or chart point at 12 degrees Scorpio, this marks the beginning of a new cycle for you in whatever that planet symbolises (eg relationships for Venus).

Remember to create your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 7.14am Queensland time (AEST), the previous day in Europe or the Americas so adjust for your time zone.

NOTE: The eclipse season begins at this New Moon, and things will start to intensify as we move towards the lunar eclipse on 19 Nov . Take extra care during the six-week eclipse season, ie the two weeks leading up to the first eclipse, the two weeks between the eclipses, and the two weeks after the second eclipse.  Remember eclipses often bring unexpected change into our lives, so take extra care during this period!!
