It’s a big month astrologically, and a very Aquarian time as so many planets come together in Aquarius for the New Moon on 12 Feb which also marks the Chinese New Year.

In true Mercury retro style, I now have an extra Foundation class about to start!!! Due to popular demand, this one will be in the evenings.  This is the very last chance to join a LIVE interactive programme for this year.  For more info and to register: Foundation 1: Astrology the Basics

The New Moon this month is a MEGA New Moon in Aquarius, falling on Fri 12 Feb at 23 Aquarius.  What’s so remarkable about this New Moon is that 6 of the 7 traditional planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn) are all in Aquarius at this time!!!  This is a New Moon that will pack so much Aquarian energy, waking us up to the need to focus on what’s best for humanity at the global collective level.

The New Moon in Aquarius is an opportunity to begin a new cycle in authenticity.  To what extent are you really being true to yourself?  Do you feel free to be true to yourself?  Aquarius is a sign associated with freedom, authenticity, and equality at both the individual and collective level.  It is strongly non-conformist, needing to be different and unique, free of society’s expectations, a natural rebel (I can hear all the Aquarians cheering!!!)  It is also focused on social responsibility, connection at the level of mass consciousness and global humanitarian concerns.

Aquarius is an air sign, loving to discuss and debate ideas, the more original, inventive and zany the better.  They’re also very rational, able to apply logic well to any situation and keep a detached mindset.  Aquarians are very sociable and tend to be known as the party animals of the zodiac!

The New Moon is exact at 5.05am Queensland time (AEST) which means it will fall the previous day in Europe and the Americas. Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon.

If your birthday is close to this date (within a day either side), this is the beginning of an important new cycle in your life in terms of your sense of identity and your purpose in the world.

Wherever you have 23 degrees of Aquarius in your birth chart indicates the area of life that will be most affected by this New Moon – for example, if this New Moon falls in your 10th house, this signifies the beginning of a new cycle in your career or professional life.

This is also the New Moon that marks Chinese New YearLike so many traditional cultures, the Chinese New Year is based on the lunar calendar.  This New Moon brings the beginning of the Chinese Lunar Year of the Ox.
