Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer 2019

eclipseTotal Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer  Wed 3 July 2019, exact at 5.22am Queensland time (AEST) at 10 degrees Cancer (2 July in Europe and the Americas)

Partial Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Capricorn  Wed 17 July 2019, exact at 7.31am Queensland time (AEST) at 24 degrees Capricorn (16 July in Europe and the Americas)

Skywatching  Jupiter rises in the east just before sunset, followed a few hours later by Saturn.  Mercury and Mars are visible in the west in the very early evening, low in the sky – you’ll need an uninterrupted view of the western horizon to see them.

The energies are really intense right now with the lead-up to the eclipses.  I’ve had a lot of clients contacting me wondering what on earth is going on for them.  If these eclipses contact your chart, believe me, you’ll know all about it!  That plus the very heavy recent energy of Saturn-Pluto on the Capricorn South Node opposite Mars in Cancer, signifying the frustrations and power struggles that many of us have been picking up on recently – and in all honesty won’t really be over till after the lunar eclipse.

All this in the shadow of the upcoming Mercury retro – you may have noticed the usual glitches starting to creep in – I even thought my computer had died the other night!  Thankfully that turned out to be a false alarm, but you can imagine the major freak-out before I realized that all was in fact OK.  Adding to the horror of the computer (apparently) dying was the thought that I certainly didn’t want to replace it during Mercury retro – and that of course would mean I’d have to wait another 3 weeks till I could get a new one! 🙂

The eclipses are here again!  The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer on Wed 3 July is a total solar eclipse, visible in the South Pacific, Chile and Argentina.  The totality of this solar eclipse will last for over 4 mins, really intensifying the sense of endings and new beginnings that always accompany a New Moon.  The new cycles starting now are likely to be especially significant because of the added intensity of this total solar eclipse.

Falling in Cancer, this eclipsed New Moon represents the opportunity for a significant new cycle in our relationship to the Feminine.  Cancer is ruled by the Moon, symbolising women, mothering and the Sacred Feminine. This is an opportunity to begin a new cycle in the way we care for others, the way we nurture ourselves and our relationship with women in general.

Cancer is a water sign, sensitive and emotional, with a strong need for emotional security. This is the sign associated with home and family, so this eclipsed New Moon can mark an important shift in our sense of belonging, maybe a new phase in our home and family life, or our sense of belonging to a ‘tribe’.

Cancer has a tenacious connection to the past – Cancerians have strong emotional attachments and don’t like to let go of anything!  The eclipsed New Moon in Cancer signifies it’s time for a significant break with the past, an opportunity to emotionally release whatever no longer serves us.  This is a great time for Forgiveness ceremonies, releasing you from the energetic attachments to your past.  Thyme essential oil and the Australian Bush Flower Essence Bottlebrush are particularly good remedies for supporting you to let go – contact me if you need to order.

If your birthday falls close to the date of this eclipsed New Moon, this marks a year of highly significant new beginnings in your life, particularly with regard to your identity, your sense of self and your purpose in life.

If you have planets close to 10 degrees Cancer (within a degree either side), this represents the beginning of significant new cycle in whatever that planet symbolizes (eg relationships for Venus).

Remember to set your intentions for this lunar month within 24 hours of the New Moon.  The New Moon is exact at 5.22am Queensland time (AEST) (so the previous day in Europe and the Americas).
