Spectacular stargazing this Sunday!

Early on Sunday morning 19 July, before sunrise, we have a really unusual sight – the Moon and five planets all visible in the morning sky.

You’ll be able to see the crescent of the Old Moon very low in the sky, Mercury (close to the Moon) and Venus shining brightly (close to the star Aldebaran) all in the east, the red planet Mars overhead, while Saturn and Jupiter can be seen very low in the sky towards the west, Jupiter below Saturn.  A truly stunning array of planets!!!!

Best viewed about 45 mins before sunrise – ie about 6am Queensland time.

You’ll need a really clear line of sight of the east and west horizons!
