Lunar Phases & Moon Planting – Sept 2024

Times are given in Queensland time AEST.
This month sees the second of four consecutive SuperMoons this year which intensify the Full Moon energy. Expect feelings to run high with a stronger-than-usual emotional charge – especially with the lunar eclipse as well. Tides will be higher than usual and extreme weather patterns like storms and flooding are more likely.
New Moon: Tues 3 Sept 2024 at 11.55am AEST at 11 Virgo
A time of renewed energy as a new cycle starts.
Moon planting: The week following the New Moon is the best time for planting leafy greens.
First Quarter: Wed 11 Sept 2024 at 4.05pm AEST at 19 Sagittarius
A time to take decisive action with unfolding events as the light of the Moon continues to grow.
Moon planting: The week following First Quarter Moon is ideal for planting fruiting vegetables.
SuperMoon Lunar Eclipse Full Moon: Wed 18 Sept 2024 at 12.34pm (12.44pm) AEST at 25 Pisces
A high energy time when things come to fruition or events come to a head, intensified by the lunar eclipse and the SuperMoon.
Moon planting: The week following Full Moon is the best time for planting root crops.
Last Quarter: Wed 25 Sept 2024 at 7.25pm AEST at 2 Cancer
A time of reorientation as the light of the Moon decreases, eventually going into the low-energy time of Old Moon, before the cycle begins again with the next New Moon.
Moon planting: The last week of the Moon cycle is the best time for weeding and composting.
