September Equinox 2021

Time to Restore Balance in Your Life!

Equinox

The Equinox falls on Thurs 23 Sept 2021, exact at 5.21am AEST (22 Sept in Europe and the Americas) .

The theme of the Equinox is always about balance.  This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length (equi-nox means ‘equal night’ in Latin), the Sun rises due east, and the seasons come to a point of balance.

The September Equinox is marked by the Sun moving into the zodiac sign of Libra, the sign associated with harmony, balance and fairness.

In the Southern hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox, a time of rejoicing that winter is over and celebrating the birth of new life.  Echoing the Virgo New Moon earlier this month, this is an excellent time for a Spring Cleanse!

The seasons are reversed in the Northern hemisphere of course, where this is the Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest celebration, giving thanks for the abundant crops produced by the summer months.

Whether you are celebrating Spring or Autumn Equinox, this is a perfect time to reflect on your own life, explore what might be out of balance there and find a way to restore balance, whether it’s in your relationships, your work or any other aspect of your life.

Romantic Full Moon in Pisces 2021

Romantic Full Moon in Pisces 2021

The Full Moon falls in Pisces on Tues 21 Sept 2021 (the previous day in Europe and the Americas).  This is a dreamy, romantic time which can bring a yearning for oneness and spiritual fulfillment.

Mars and Neptune are closely aligned with this Full Moon which adds a sense of idealism or altruism, although more negatively it can also have the potential to be deceptive, so be careful you don’t fall for a scam at this time!

PiscesThe Full Moon in Pisces can be a time when creative projects come to fruition, particularly if they’re for a cause you’ve been advocating for some time. As this is a Pisces Full Moon, just make sure you’re seeing things clearly and not as you’d wish to see them, through rose-coloured glasses!

The Full Moon in Pisces urges us to find a balance between seeing the big picture and staying in touch with the details that ground the vision.

The Full Moon is at 28 degrees Pisces and is exact at 9.54am AEST, so the best night for Full Moon celebrations will be the previous evening while the energies are still building.

The New Moon in Virgo on Tues 7 Sept 2021 is likely to introduce changes to the way we approach our everyday life.  This is an excellent time to start a new health regime, go on a diet or go on a cleanse.

The energy flow with a Virgo New Moon is to do anything that brings a new sense of order into your life ….. If you’re thinking of de-cluttering your house, this New Moon provides perfect timing, and may even demand it of you!!   If you’re feeling an unusually strong urge to spring-clean and tidy up the place, you won’t be alone!  Virgo loves order more than anything, a place for everything and everything in its place.

Virgo is an Earth sign, cautious and practical, taking its time to create the order which it loves. It has a tendency towards perfectionism and is excellent at attention to detail.  The challenge for Virgo is not getting lost in the details and therefore losing sight of the overall vision, the classic state of “can’t see the wood (forest) for the trees”.  It’s great to be on top of the details, but remember to keep them in context.

With Uranus in an exact trine to this New Moon, you’re likely to feel a strong need to be true to yourself, to be free to express who you really are and how you really feel.

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose, and with the influence of Uranus, this is an excellent opportunity to re-invent yourself!

Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 10.51am Queensland time (AEST) at 14 degrees Virgo (it falls the previous  day in the Americas).

True Blue Moon!!! Second Full Moon in Aquarius 2021

True Blue Moon!!!

Second Full Moon in Aquarius (True Blue Moon)

Sun 22 Aug 2021, exact at 10.01pm Queensland time (AEST) at 29 degrees Aquarius

.

We have a true Blue Moon this lunar month as the Full Moon on Sun 22 Aug is the second Full Moon in the sign of Aquarius, falling at 29 degrees. You’ll see lots of erroneous media definitions of a Blue Moon, but astrologically, it’s when there’s a second Full Moon within the same zodiac sign, a fairly rare occurrence, and nothing to do with the actual colour of the Moon!  Last month’s Full Moon was at one degree Aquarius, and this month’s falls at 29 degrees, making it a true genuine Blue Moon.

This second Full Moon in Aquarius highlights again the importance of establishing a balance between the needs of the collective and the needs of the individual, something that’s very much in the news at the moment in connection with the pandemic.  This second Full Moon in Aquarius invites us – yet again – to find a solution that honours both sets of needs.

This Full Moon also provides another, second opportunity to bring new and experimental ideas into sharp focus, ideas that are likely to benefit the collective.

Full Moons often bring situations to a head, so be prepared for collective issues such as those associated with the pandemic – or humanitarian issues such as refugees (think of the plight of the Afghan interpreters for example) –  to reach some kind of crisis point, where resolution becomes imperative.  The Full Moon falls at 29 degrees Aquarius and is exact at 10.01pm AEST.

Uranus goes retro

UranusUranus goes retro

Uranus goes retrograde on Fri 20 Aug 2021 at 14 degrees Taurus.  This gives you the opportunity to review your life from a perspective of increased awareness, especially any innovation you may have introduced in the last 7 months.

The house that Uranus is currently transiting (taking about 7 years on average to travel through a house) will be the area of your life currently under this kind of review.

If your birthday is close to 5 May, you could be experiencing the negative side of Uranus which is destabilization and chaos – transform this by recognising an opportunity to bring more awareness into your life and be more authentically yourself, a classic time for re-inventing yourself.

If you were born around 5 May, or have 14 degrees Taurus strong in your chart, this Uranus standstill is likely to affect you deeply – a time to reflect on your own truth and integrity, and a great cosmic opportunity to reinvent yourself.  It’s also a time to awaken to something in your life, you’ll know best what that is.  The Universe is saying that you need to bring more awareness to this aspect of your life and make significant changes there – otherwise the Universe has a way of forcing these changes upon you!

Uranus is retrograde for 5 months until 19 Jan 2022 when it goes direct at 10 Taurus.

🌟Friday 13th – a day sacred to the Goddess! 🌟

Today is Friday 13th – a day sacred to the Goddess!

 Goddess
The number 13 has always been associated with the Goddess – there are 13 lunar months in the year, as opposed to 12 solar months.

Friday is the day of Venus, the sensuous feminine aspect of the Goddess. You can see the connection in Romance languages like French (Friday = Vendredi), Italian (Venerdi) – in English Friday comes from the day of Freya (Frija), the Teutonic equivalent of Venus.

So Friday 13th is a day doubly sacred to the Goddess ❤️  My father always said it was a lucky day for him.

It became “unlucky” for many reasons – when the patriarchy suppressed the old Goddess religion, 13 had to be rebranded as unlucky. That to me is the most obvious and ancient answer! Then there’s the Last Supper – with Judas seen as the 13th person there (12 disciplines plus Jesus = 13, so Judas was known as the 13th). Then too in the persecution of the Knights Templar, their Grand Master Jacques de Molay and 60 knights were arrested on Friday 13 October 1307, a day which became infamous. They were later executed, most of them burned at the stake.

So remember Friday 13th is a day doubly sacred to the Goddess ❤️

Skywatching: Venus can be seen in the western evening sky as the Evening Star, bright and twinkly.  In the east, Saturn rises just before sunset and Jupiter rises an hour later.  Over the course of the night, Saturn and Jupiter travel across the sky and can be seen large and bright in the western sky before sunrise.
August Lunar Phases & Moon Planting Guide ☘️🍃🎋

The New Moon in Leo on Sun 8 Aug brings a renewed sense of fun and enthusiasm for life. This is a perfect time to re-energize and revitalize.

Leo is ruled by the Sun and this sign has all the life-giving qualities of the Sun, inspiring others with its radiant warmth, energy and passion.  Warm-hearted and generous, Leo is the royalty of the zodiac, confident and regal with a flair for the dramatic, so don’t be surprised to find a Leo centre-stage!  Fire signs need to have plenty of fun, and Leos love this to be in lavish grand style.

This New Moon represents the opportunity to begin a new cycle in your enthusiasm for life and your creativity – whatever inspires you and ignites your passion.

If your birthday falls close to the date of this New Moon, this marks an important year of new beginnings in your life, particularly with regard to your identity, your sense of self and your purpose in life.

The New Moon falls at 16 degrees of Leo. If you have planets close to this point (within one degree) this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet represents, for example relationships for Venus.

Remember to set your intentions for this lunar month within 24 hours of the New Moon.  The New Moon is exact at 11.50pm AEST.

PS  On the evening of Wed 11 Aug, there will be the beautiful sight of the slim Crescent Moon close to Venus in the western sky soon after sunset.
