Legal resolutions? Jupiter goes direct 2021

Jupiter canstockphotoJupiter goes direct on Mon 18 Oct at 22 degrees Aquarius, indicating that the restraint and apparent lack of progress of recent months can now be resolved, and renewed hope and optimism emerge as things start to move forward once more.

Ongoing reviews of injustice and other legal matters are likely to be brought to resolution now.

At a personal level, if you have been questioning your beliefs or dealing with issues of faith or trust over the last four months, Jupiter’s direct motion is now likely to bring resolution and more clarity.

Jupiter turns retro on the solstice

Jupiter canstockphotoJupiter goes retrograde right on the solstice Mon 21 June 2021 AEST at 2 Pisces (see previous post for info on the solstice).  Jupiter influences social, moral and ethical issues, so Jupiter retro periods often bring changes in the law around matters associated with the sign Jupiter is in.

Here in Pisces, Jupiter is asking us to re-examine Piscean themes such as water and water usage, how we treat the rivers and oceans, the contamination of ground water supplies through fracking, the global problem of over-fishing and the toxicity of farmed fish.  Expect these topics to be in the news.

Jupiter does not stay in Pisces long before it moves back into Aquarius on 28 July. From then on, during its retro period through Aquarius (till 18 Oct) we can expect legal revisions to Aquarian issues such as technology, technological advances, alternative energy sources, innovations, sharing economies and community-based enterprises.  I except to see more soul-searching around the energy consumption of cryptocurrency in this period, hopefully with alternative green solutions put forward.

In broader terms, the Jupiter retro period is a time when reviews of injustice and other legal matters are likely to take place.

At a personal level, there can be a sense of restraint and apparent lack of progress – hope and optimism might be harder to come by.  Trust issues are likely to resurface, coming up for another opportunity for healing and transformation.  You may find yourself questioning your beliefs or dealing with issues of faith in the next four months.

Jupiter is retro until 18 Oct 2021 when it goes direct once more at 22 degrees Aquarius.

Jupiter moves into Pisces 2021

Jupiter canstockphotoJupiter changes signs this month, moving into the oceanic depths of Pisces on Fri 14 May (AEST, 13 May in Europe & the Americas) for a few months before returning to Aquarius.

Jupiter often brings changes to the law, looking at questions of morals and ethics.  One example of its movement through Aquarius over the past year is that it’s brought up questions of morality and ethics in technology, especially to do with social media.

As Jupiter moves into Pisces we’re likely to see questions arising around our treatment of the oceans, rivers and water catchments – think fracking and the way the oceans are being poisoned with leaking chemical and radioactive dumps, not to mention the fishing industry – whether that’s overfishing or dubious fish farming practices, such as those that have recently got a massive exposé in Richard Flanagan’s new book on Tasmanian salmon.

Jupiter in Pisces is a very powerful placement.  In traditional Astrology (before Neptune was discovered) Jupiter is seen as the ruler of Pisces, so it’s a placement where it’s very strong. Jupiter in Pisces brings the potential for increased faith in spiritual approaches, more compassion in the justice systems, and a much stronger focus on charities and the work they’re able to accomplish.

Negatively Pisces (through its modern Neptune rulership) can be associated with addictive behaviours, and with deception. This period of Jupiter in Pisces also has the potential to see new legislation introduced around issues associated with addiction (eg drugs, alcohol, gambling), and around scams and deceptive marketing.

Jupiter turns direct – bringing renewed optimism

Jupiter has been retrograde for the past 4 months, since mid-May when most countries were in serious lockdown over Covid-19.  On Sun 13 Sept, Jupiter goes direct again at 17 degrees Capricorn.

This direct motion is likely to lift people’s spirits as the restrictions we’ve been living with in the retro period start to ease.  There’s likely to be a shift in the restraint and apparent lack of progress of recent months, and it’s possible that this will now be resolved in some way – we’re likely to feel renewed hope and optimism as things start to move forward once more.

Ongoing reviews of injustice and other legal matters are likely to be brought to resolution now.  I’m wondering if Assange’s extradition case will be in the news again and if it’s likely to resolved now …

At a personal level, if you have been questioning your beliefs or dealing with issues of faith or trust over the last four months, Jupiter’s direct motion is likely to bring resolution and more clarity.
