Mercury goes direct!

We can all heave a sigh of relief as Mercury goes direct after three weeks of its usual communication challenges, delays and frustrations.

Mercury goes direct on Sun 21 Feb stationing at 11 degrees Aquarius after its recent retrograde period.  The frustrations of the last three weeks will now ease and communications become a lot smoother again.

In the days leading up to Mercury going direct, continue to double-check appointments, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK.

Remember that confusion and misunderstandings occur much more easily at this time.

Try to delay any major purchases or contract-signing till at least a week after Mercury’s gone direct again.

Mercury goes Retrograde – back up your computers!!!

mercury_retroSIGN

Mercury goes retrograde on Sun 31 Jan 2021 (AEST) for 3 weeks, bringing the potential for confusion, mistakes and delays.

You may start to feel the effects of this from 15 Jan onwards when Mercury enters its retro shadow – I certainly have, with students in every one of my Astrology classes this week having internet issues!!!

So – in this Mercury retro period, double-check appointments, that you have your keys with you when you leave the house, and that messages get through OK.

With Mercury retro in Aquarius, there’s an increased chance of technological glitches so make sure your computer (and everything else) is backed up!

Also, this is not a good time to make any major purchases or sign contracts, unless you’re prepared to revise your plans – or take purchases back to the shop – down the track.

The upside of Mercury retro is that it is a great time to catch up on all your paperwork and reorganize so you can be more streamlined.

Mercury is retro for about 3 weeks until 21 Feb.

Mercury goes direct, bringing confusion to US elections!

Mercury goes direct, bringing confusion to US elections!

After three weeks of its usual retro communication challenges, delays and frustrations, Mercury goes direct on Wed 4 Nov. We can all breathe a sigh of relief now as the frustrations of the last three weeks ease and communications become a lot smoother again.

It does mean though that we have another situation (similar to George W Bush’s first election) where the US election result coincides with Mercury stationary.   Remember that election, where there was recount after recount and eventually it had to go to the High Court for a final decision?? That election was held on a Mercury stationary day. You can expect this year’s US election results to be similarly delayed, unclear, contested – it could be a long-drawn-out affair!  I guess you don’t really need Astrology to see that coming – but I always find it extraordinary how Astrology confirms what’s going on …

In the days leading up to Mercury going direct, continue to double-check appointments and flight times, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK.  Remember that confusion and misunderstandings occur much more easily in the Mercury retro period.

Continue to take all your usual Mercury retro precautions (eg avoid signing contracts, making major purchases) till at least a week after Mercury’s gone direct again.

And don’t hold your breath about the US elections!

Mercury retro & Brexit

Mercury goes retro on 31 Oct (UK)/1 Nov (Australia), the day of the Brexit no-deal!!!!! Classic!!! 😂😂😂

mercury_retroSIGNWe’re already in the shadow of the upcoming Mercury retrograde period – you may have noticed things like losing your keys, leaving your phone at home by mistake, double-booking appointments – or forgetting them altogether. Yes it kicks in early, even though Mercury doesn’t actually go retro till 1 Nov (Australia)/31 Oct (Europe). And yes that date rings a bell because it’s the supposed Brexit no-deal date!

Mercury turning retrograde is really not a good date for Brexit! Remember George W Bush getting elected first time round? The election was on Tues 7 Nov 2000, the day of a Mercury station. The decision hung in the balance for weeks with recount after recount till it was finally resolved by the US Supreme Court and Bush was declared the winner, beating Al Gore who’d actually won a higher percentage of the popular vote. So it makes me wonder what might go down with Brexit – like so many things in political life these days, just when you think it can’t possibly get any worse, it does!

The Mercury retro period brings the potential for confusion, mistakes and delays. Double-check appointments and flight times, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK. This is not a good time to make any major purchases or sign contracts, unless you’re prepared to revise your plans – or take purchases back to the shop – down the track. The upside of Mercury retro is that it’s a great time to catch up on all your paperwork and reorganize so you can be more streamlined.

Mercury is retro until Thurs 21 Nov 2019 (AEST).

New Moon in Leo 2019

New MoonNew Moon Supermoon, watch the tides!

Mercury direct on this Leo New Moon

New Moon in Leo   Thurs 1 Aug 2019, exact at 1.12pm Queensland time (AEST) at 8 degrees Leo

Full Moon in Aquarius   Thurs 15 Aug 2019, exact at 10.29pm Queensland time (AEST) at 22 degrees Aquarius

Skywatching   Jupiter can be seen overhead in the evening, followed a few hours later by Saturn.

Most of us will feel a definite shift in the energy with this New Moon in Leo, finally moving out of the intensity of the eclipse season of the past six weeks.  Some people are still doing it tough though – if you have planets between 15-22 degrees of Capricorn, you’ll really be feeling the effects of transiting Pluto, South Node and Saturn …. (this also applies to these degrees of the other cardinal signs: Cancer, Libra and Aries). The Universe is really challenging you to clean up your act, transform certain aspects of your life, step into your power and accept full responsibility for your life – it’s an absolutely huge time for you!

If you’re currently facing challenges in your life, an astrology session with me will give you clarity and insight into how to transform the energies around you now and journey through the next twelve months. And if you feel you’d benefit from ongoing support and guidance, I invite you to consider my exclusive Life Mastery – Astro*Coaching programme, where I work one-on-one with you on a regular basis to guide you through the upcoming energies.  Contact me for more details or click on the links here.

The New Moon in Leo brings a renewed sense of fun and enthusiasm for life. This is a perfect time to re-energize and revitalize.  Leo is ruled by the Sun and this sign has all the life-giving qualities of the Sun, inspiring others with its warmth, energy and passion.  Warm-hearted and generous, Leo is the royalty of the zodiac, confident and regal with a flair for the dramatic, so don’t be surprised to find a Leo centre-stage.  Fire signs need to have plenty of fun, and Leos love this to be in lavish grand style. This New Moon represents the opportunity to begin a new cycle in your enthusiasm for life and your creativity – whatever inspires you and ignites your passion.

Over the next 3 months we have three New Moon SuperMoons in a row.  A SuperMoon is when the Moon comes closer in her orbit round the Earth (which occurs every month) and this closeness coincides with either a New or Full Moon.  Because of the extra-closeness of the Moon at this time, her effects are felt much more strongly. Tides are likely to be much higher than usual at this time.

Because this New Moon in Leo is also a SuperMoon, the effects of this New Moon are enhanced and magnified.

If your birthday falls close to the date of this New Moon, this marks an important year of new beginnings in your life, particularly with regard to your identity, your sense of self and your purpose in life.

The New Moon falls at 8 degrees of Leo. If you have planets close to this point (within one degree) this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet represents, for example relationships for Venus.

Remember to set your intentions for this lunar month within 24 hours of the New Moon.  The New Moon is exact at 1.12pm AEST.

After three weeks of its usual communication challenges, delays and frustrations, Mercury goes direct on the day of the New Moon after its recent retrograde period, stationing at 23 degrees Cancer.  We can all breathe a sigh of relief now as the frustrations of the last three weeks ease and communications become a lot smoother again. In the days leading up to Mercury going direct, continue to double-check appointments and flight times, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK.  Remember that confusion and misunderstandings occur much more easily at this time. Try to delay any major purchases or contract-signing till at least a week after Mercury’s gone direct again.

Double-whammy New Moon in Pisces!

Full Moon in Libra (Supermoon)  Thurs 21 March 2019, exact at 11.43am Queensland time (AEST) at 0 degrees Libra

Skywatching  Venus can be seen as a Morning Star in the east before sunrise, and even Mercury can be seen lower in the sky if you have a clear view of the eastern horizon. Saturn and Jupiter are almost overhead in the pre-dawn sky.  In the evening after sunset, the red planet Mars can be seen in the western sky.

Double-whammy New Moon in Pisces

Full Moon on the Equinox

… and Mercury’s retro …

Just a reminder that Mercury’s retro by the time of this New Moon!!!  Make sure your computers are backed up!  Two significant astrological events unfold THE DAY BEFORE this next New Moon: Mercury goes retrograde and Uranus moves into Taurus for the next 7 years, both on 6 March.  There’s plenty of info in last month’s newsletter and on my Facebook page on these …. I just want to bring them back to the forefront of your awareness!!! 🙂

The New Moon falls in Pisces in the early hours of Thurs 7 March 2019 (the previous day in Europe and the Americas).  Neptune the modern ruler of Pisces is strongly configured with this New Moon, giving it a super-boost double whammy of Neptunian-Piscean energy.

In its positive manifestation, this New Moon signifies a renewed focus on spirituality and the desire to transcend our 3D reality. Pisces has a strong sense of divine homesickness, a longing to return to source and merge into oneness.  This New Moon is a great time to begin a new cycle of meditation and spiritual practices!

It’s also a wonderful time to begin a new cycle of creative pursuits, such as art, photography or music, essentially anything creative that takes you into that right-brain space of timelessness, a highly Neptunian experience!

When manifesting negatively however, Pisces (and its ruler Neptune) can bring illusion and deception, making us more gullible than usual, more prone to being deceived (and deceiving ourselves too!).  Be careful of falling under some kind of spell under the influence of this New Moon!!!  The Piscean urge to transcend reality can express negatively as escapism, any kind of escapism – which in its more extreme form can easily develop into addictive patterns of behaviour.

The New Moon in Pisces may also usher in a new cycle of compassion and the desire to help others. Just be careful that this doesn’t become an urge to rescue people, as you’ll disempower them in the process.  Pisces has a tendency towards self-sacrifice in the service of others, even to the point of martyrdom, so make sure you look after yourself first, otherwise you’ll be in no position to take care of others.  There’s a fine line between helping others and rescuing them, overstepping boundaries which essentially need to be respected and strengthened.  One of the best ways to empower people is to give them the space to make their own decisions, providing the invitation for them to step into that place of self-responsibility and empowerment.

Wherever you have 15 degrees of Pisces in your chart is the area of your life that will be affected by this New Moon – for example, if it falls in your 10th house, this signifies the beginning of a new cycle in your career or professional life.

If your birthday falls close to this date (within a day either side), this is the beginning of an important new cycle for you, especially with regard to your sense of identity and your purpose in life.

The New Moon is exact at 2.04am Queensland time (AEST).  Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon.

New Moon in Scorpio 2017

The Phoenix, symbol of transformation & rebirth

New Moon in Scorpio  Sat 18 Nov 2017, exact at 9.42pm Queensland time (AEST) at 26 degrees Scorpio

Full Moon in Gemini  Mon 4 Dec 2017, exact at 1.46am Queensland time (AEST) (Sun 3 Dec in Europe and the Americas) at 11 degrees Gemini

Skywatching   Mars, Jupiter and Venus can be seen as Morning Stars this lunar month, visible in the east before sunrise, the red planet Mars higher in the sky than bright Jupiter and twinkling Venus.  Mercury and Saturn can be seen low in the evening sky in the west for a brief period just after sunset.

Time for empowerment and transformation

Mercury goes retro

The New Moon falls in Scorpio on Sat 18 Nov signalling the beginning of a major new cycle in self-empowerment and relating to others in a deep and passionate way.  The sign of Scorpio is associated with rebirth – or more accurately with all stages in the three-fold journey of transformation: death, the passage through the underworld and then the rebirth, rising like the phoenix from the ashes of the old self.  Scorpio represents the capacity for intense transformation and is the ultimate survivor.

Scorpio is Water sign, sensitive and feeling things at a very deep level.  Scorpios are very loyal and dependable.  The sign is ruled by the planet Pluto which gives them their characteristic intensity, and they are finely attuned to power issues, with a kind of X-ray vision that tells them who’s to be trusted (and who’s not).  They will carry secrets to the grave, and so have a natural talent for confidentiality.  When manifesting negatively though, they can be ruthless and power-hungry.  You really don’t ever want to cross a Scorpio – like the scorpion, they are famous for that sting in their tail!

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.  If you have a planet at 26 degrees of Scorpio, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet symbolises (eg relationships for Venus).

Even if this New Moon doesn’t contact any planets in your chart, look at the house it falls in – this tells you the area of your life where a new cycle is starting.

Remember to create your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 9.42pm Queensland time (AEST).

New Moon in Taurus 2017

Cosmic invitation to shine your light!
& Mercury goes direct

Taurus the bull

New Moon in Taurus
Wed 26 April 2017, exact at 10.16pm Queensland time (AEST) at 6 degrees Taurus

Full Moon in Scorpio
Thurs 11 May 2017, exact at 7.42am Queensland time (AEST) at 20 degrees Scorpio (Wed 10 May in Europe and the Americas)

Skywatching  Jupiter is visible as an evening star rising in the east, while Saturn rises later in the evening. Mars the red planet is visible in the west just after sunset. For early risers, Venus can now be seen as the twinkling Morning Star in the pre-dawn sky.

Time for some pampering as the New Moon goes into Taurus – and there’s a really important shift in our collective spiritual alignment this month as the North Node goes into Leo – it’s a cosmic invitation for us to shine our light and demonstrate generosity of spirit.

The New Moon falls in Taurus on Wed 26 April, signalling an opportunity to begin a new cycle in our relationship with the physical world.  It invites us to connect deeply with the land, to appreciate the abundance of Nature, to acknowledge the sacred beauty of the Earth and to embody this by stepping into our protective role as her guardians.

Taurus is an Earth sign, patient and grounded, with an appreciation of the finer things in life.  Taurus is sensuous and has a love of luxury, so this is an excellent time now for some pampering and indulgence!

Taurus is associated with security in its many forms – emotional, material and financial – and this need for security (or more accurately, the fear of lack of security) can give rise to the sign’s tendency towards possessiveness and material accumulation.  Use the energies of this lunar month to explore your own security needs and your own relationship with abundance.

If your birthday falls close to this New Moon, within a day either side, you are likely to be strongly affected as it marks a year of new beginnings in your life, particularly with regard to your identity and your sense of purpose.

The New Moon falls at 6 degrees Taurus.  If you have points in your birth chart close to this degree (within one degree) expect the part of your life associated with that energy (eg relationships for Venus) to begin a significant new cycle.

The New Moon is exact at 10.16pm AEST.  Remember to set your New Moon intentions in the following 24 hrs.

Mercury retrograde

Mercury retro:  Sat 7 June – Tues 1 July 2014

It’s that Mercury retro time again … doesn’t 3 months fly!

Mercury goes retrograde on Sat 7 June for 3 weeks, bringing the potential for confusion, mistakes and delays. This is not a good time to make any major purchases or sign contracts, unless you’re prepared to revise your plans (or take purchases back to the shop) down the track.

Double check all your appointments, that your clients really are coming, that you aren’t double-booked, that all your messages have got through to the people you think you’ve messaged, and that you’ve got your keys, money and phone with you when you leave the house … !

However it is a great time to catch up on all your paperwork, and reorganize so you can be more streamlined.  Mercury is retrograde until Tues 1 July.
