Expect the Unexpected! Uranus goes direct

Uranus - Iceland Storm

Uranus goes direct on Thurs 14 Jan, the day after the New Moon, at 6 degrees Taurus..

Uranus is the Great Awakener, shaking up any sense we have of security or permanence (and how!).

Uranus takes us into unexplored territory, and as it turns direct again for the next 7 months, that’s where we’re heading.

Uranus brings new insights and a higher level of awareness, as well as changes, yet it can be very disruptive – the changes are often unexpected, shaking things to their very foundation, sometimes even bringing down the whole structure in the urge to bring about revolutionary change.

In the words of Leonard Cohen “there is a crack, a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”.

The more conscious we can be, and the more open we are to the changes that the Universe is demanding of us, the less disruptive this energy is likely to be.

Saturn and Pluto station turning direct

Saturn and Pluto station to turn direct

Saturn and Pluto are now stationing ready to turn direct just a few days apart – Saturn on Tues 29 Sept and Pluto on Sun 4 Oct.  They’re moving so slowly right now though that effectively this is one huge and very heavy energy we’re dealing with, covering the degrees from 22-25 Capricorn.   Those of you with birthdays around 13-15 Jan will really be feeling this at a deep personal level.  See the detailed breakdown below.

Then on top of that, these degrees are getting challenged by Mars retro over the next ten days or so, as it squares these heavy duty planets, adding to the tension and frustration.

Saturn slows to a halt on Tues 29 Sept 2020 following its recent retrograde period, ready to go direct again at 25 degrees Capricorn
If your birthday is close to 15 Jan
or this degree is significant in your chart, you will have been feeling the heavy energy of Saturn sitting on this point for the previous 3 weeks, with a further three weeks to look forward to (!).  The energy of Saturn asks us to re-evaluate the area of life it is currently contacting, to take full responsibility for ourselves and our actions, and to cut away any dead wood – which ultimately stimulates new growth.  It is also very good at demanding that we do a reality check.  The forward motion of Saturn enables us to test and put into practice over the next seven months whatever we have learned about social responsibility, self-discipline and material reality during its recent retrograde phase.

Pluto goes direct on Sun 4 Oct 2020, and is pretty much stationary for the second half of Sept and first half of Oct. This is a time when deeply-buried issues may finally rise to the surface, particularly if you’ve become more aware of them bubbling away in the last six months.
Plutonian issues usually concern disempowerment, powerlessness and trauma, where the issues run deep – just think of the Black Lives Matter movement.  Plutonian issues manifest in the perpetrators as misuses or even abuses of power.  This time is well-suited to deep inner work, shifting these deep-seated issues so that you can at last move forward.  The key to moving through this is to become as aware as possible of your feelings and reactions, becoming conscious of how, on the one hand, you may give away your power, and on the other, how you may manipulate others to get your own way.  It can be really subtle, so to paraphrase Socrates, know thyself – and stay in the light!
If you have chart points at 22 degrees of Capricorn (or any of the other cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra) including birthdays around 13 Jan, you will be picking up on this intense transformational energy at a very personal level – in fact it’s been going on for the last couple of years.  The good news is that it is finally easing for you as Pluto moves forwards and leaves this degree behind.  Hopefully you have faced the demons, defeated or transformed them, and can now step fully into your power.

Uranus goes retro

Uranus goes retrograde on Sun 16 Aug 2020 (just after midnight AEST, effectively Sat night) at 10 Taurus.  This gives you the opportunity to review your life from a perspective of increased awareness, especially any innovation you may have introduced in the last 7 months. The house that Uranus is currently transiting (taking about 7 years on average to travel through a house) will be the area of your life currently under this kind of review.

If your birthday is close to 30 April, you could be experiencing the negative side of Uranus which is destabilization and chaos – transform this by recognising an opportunity to bring more awareness into your life and be more authentically yourself, a classic time for re-inventing yourself.  Uranus is retrograde for 5 months until 14 Jan 2021 when it goes direct again at 6 Taurus.

If you are born around 30 April, or have 10 degrees Taurus strong in your chart, this Uranus standstill is likely to affect you deeply – a time to reflect on your own truth and integrity, and a great cosmic opportunity to reinvent yourself.  It’s also a time to wake up to something in your life, you’ll know best what that is.  The Universe is saying that you need to bring more awareness to this aspect of your life and make significant changes there – otherwise the Universe has a way of forcing these changes upon you!

Jupiter goes retrograde 2020

Jupiter canstockphoto

Jupiter goes retro on Fri 15 May AEST (the previous day in Europe and the Americas) at 27 degrees Capricorn.  Jupiter influences social, moral and ethical issues, and Jupiter retrograde periods often bring changes in the law around matters associated with the sign Jupiter is in.  Here in Capricorn, Jupiter is asking us to re-examine the ethics and morality of Capricorn themes such as the establishment, the finance and banking industry, and multinational corporations.  We can expect to see changes to existing laws in these areas during this Jupiter retro period.

In broader terms, the Jupiter retro period is a time when reviews of injustice and other legal matters are likely to take place.

At a personal level, there can be a sense of restraint and apparent lack of progress – hope and optimism might be harder to come by.  Trust issues are likely to resurface, coming up for another opportunity for healing and transformation.  You may find yourself questioning your beliefs or dealing with issues of faith in the next four months.

Remember too that this Jupiter-Pluto period (throughout 2020) is about transformation of our belief structures, so if you feel your old belief systems starting to wobble or collapse, focus on what (in a positive sense) you want to bring through in the new reality we’re starting to create now.  These are times of huge upheaval and change, and we’re all affected.  Jupiter is retro until 13 Sept 2020 when it goes direct once more at 17 degrees Capricorn.

Saturn goes retro 2020

Saturn in Sagittarius

Saturn grinds to a halt on Mon 11 May at 1 degree Aquarius, ready to start his retrograde journey back towards Capricorn, which he re-enters on 2 July (AEST). The Saturn retrograde period lasts until 29 Sept 2020.

Saturn retrograde encourages us to review the recent past and assess our ability to take full responsibility for our actions.  It also urges us to re-examine the way we have structured our lives.  This is a good time to look at the ways we limit ourselves, and bring our fears to the conscious light of day.  This is also a good time to review our ability to say ’No’ and ensure that we can maintain healthy boundaries in all areas of our lives.

If your birthday falls around 16 Jan, this is likely to be a time of increased responsibility for you, as you enter a new phase of maturity and step into a place of personal authority.  Your workload may increase at this time, and if you accept this extra responsibility, this can be a successful time for you.  Saturn is a planet where we truly reap what we sow: if you’ve put in the hard work, this is likely to be a time of achievement.  However, if you’ve cut corners along the way, this is a time when you can come unstuck and this can lead to feelings of failure

Pluto goes retrograde

pluto symbolPluto slows to a halt on Sun 26 April 2020 AEST, ready to begin his retrograde journey.  If anything in your life has been going through symbolic death throes in the last six months, this is a time when you are likely to revisit the whole process, perhaps at an even deeper level as you search for the hidden truths and the soul essence of who you are, the alchemist’s gold that can eventually emerge from the blackness.

Pluto is stationary at 24 degrees of Capricorn (actually 24 CP 59, so just one minute of arc short of 25 degrees Capricorn).  Anyone whose birthday falls around 15-16 Jan is likely to be experiencing a very intense time while personal transformation goes on at a deep core level – the eventual outcome is empowerment, the ability to stand comfortably in your own power, but it’s a long drawn-out process which won’t be complete until the end of 2021.  This will also be true for anyone with personal planets at this degree, or at 24-25 degrees of the other cardinal signs: Aries, Libra and Cancer.

Pluto will retrograde back to 22 degrees Capricorn before turning direct again on 4 Oct 2020.

Supermoon New Moon in Libra 2019

Libra, the scales of balance

Supermoon New Moon in Libra   Sun 29 Sept 2019, exact at 4.26am Queensland time (AEST) at 5 degrees Libra (28 Sept in Europe and the Americas)

Full Moon in Aries  Mon 14 Oct 2019, exact at 7.07am Queensland time (AEST) at 20 degrees Aries (13 Oct in Europe and the Americas)

Skywatching  At sunset, Jupiter and Saturn are high overhead.  As the month progresses, Mercury and Venus are now seen as Evening Stars, appearing gradually higher in the western sky, with Mercury above Venus.

New Moon in Libra (Supermoon)

Focus on connection and harmony

Pluto stationary direct – huge intensity!!!

The Saturn-South Node conjunction has been taking a huge toll – both at the collective level and at the personal level for so many people.  Saturn-South Node is a signature for loss, and with Pluto close by, the losses are being felt at the deepest level and require significant transformation for rebirth.  The climate crisis demonstrations are just one example of this.  Meanwhile we’re moving closer and closer towards the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of next January, which is bringing increasingly authoritarian, nationalist, right-wing approaches across the board.  It’s all about Power and Control, but with conscious awareness, could so easily be about providing frameworks that empower people and encourage personal responsibility.   Next year will see a number of other significant alignments as well, creating epoch-making transitions.  More on this later.

This New Moon in Libra is the last of three consecutive Supermoon New Moons, where the Moon is closer to the Earth than usual and the energy of the New Moon is intensified.  Any new cycles starting now will be enhanced by the energy of the Supermoon.

The New Moon falls in Libra in the early morning of Sun 29 Sept, starting a new cycle in your relationships and connections with others.  It also brings a renewed emphasis on the need for harmony and fairness in all aspects of your life.  Libra is the sign of the born diplomat, the mediator who can always see both sides of any issue.  The symbol for Libra is the scales, where things can be weighed and balanced.  With the New Moon in Libra, this lunar month is a good time to focus on restoring balance in your life, giving you the opportunity to consolidate the theme of the Equinox last month (see last month’s newsletter) by implementing whatever changes are required to bring your life back into harmony and balance.

Libra is an Air sign, sociable and communicative, with a huge need for fairness.  It’s also one of the leadership signs, but it doesn’t need to be out in front – quite the contrary. The leadership style of Libra is inclusive and co-operative, making Libra an excellent leader.  The challenge for Libra is decision-making!  They are so good at seeing all sides of the question that reaching a final decision can be agony for them, especially when they’re trying to keep everyone happy.  Because they hate disharmony, people-pleasing is often one of their main issues, not helped by their reluctance to confront and tackle any problem areas.  Embracing more of the assertiveness of their opposite sign Aries can be really helpful.

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.

If you have a planet at 5 degrees of Libra (within a degree either side), this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet symbolises (eg responsibility for Saturn).

Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 4.26am Queensland time (AEST) at 5 degrees Libra.  If you’re in Europe or the Americas, the New Moon will fall on Sat 28 Sept.

MEGA VIRGO Supermoon New Moon!!!!

MEGA VIRGO Supermoon New Moon!!!!

& the Libra Equinox

Time to declutter, go on that cleanse

& bring balance into your life!!!

We’re about to have a MEGA VIRGO Supermoon New Moon this Friday, with ALL the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) all in Virgo!!! 💫💫💫

Once Mercury goes into Virgo on Thurs 29 Aug at 5.48pm Qld time, we have all the personal planets apart from the Moon (ie Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars) all in Virgo.  The Moon joins them on Fri 30 Aug at 9.57am as she too moves into Virgo, in the very last hours of the old lunar month before she joins with the Sun at 8.37pm that same night to form this month’s New Moon in Virgo … a MEGA VIRGO New Moon with ALL the personal planets in Virgo!!!  And as if that weren’t enough, it’s also a SUPERMOON New Moon!!!  Which makes the energies stronger than usual.  Watch out for the tides at this New Moon!  And for unusually strong urges to spring clean, tidy the house, go on that cleanse …. you get the idea!!! 💫💫💫

If you’re currently facing challenges in your life, an astrology session with me will give you clarity and insight into how to transform the energies around you now and journey through the next twelve months. And if you feel you’d benefit from ongoing support and guidance, I invite you to consider my exclusive Life Mastery – Astro*Coaching programme, where I work one-on-one with you on a regular basis to guide you through the upcoming energies.  Contact me for more details or click on the links here.

This MEGA VIRGO New Moon on Fri 30 Aug is the second of three New Moon SuperMoons in a row.  A SuperMoon is when the Moon comes closer in her orbit round the Earth (which occurs every month) but when this closeness coincides with either a New or Full Moon (in this case a New Moon), her effects are felt much more strongly.  Because this New Moon in Vigo is the closest of these three SuperMoons, the effects of this New Moon are enhanced and magnified. The tides are likely to be much higher than usual on this New Moon.

The Mega Virgo New Moon is likely to bring changes to the way we approach our everyday life.  This is an excellent time to start a new health regime, and to bring a new sense of order into your life.  If you’re thinking of going on a cleanse, or de-cluttering your house, this New Moon provides perfect timing, and may even demand it of you!!  If you’re feeling an unusually strong urge to spring-clean and tidy up the place, you won’t be alone!  There are SO MANY planets in Virgo at the moment it’s not funny!!!!!  Virgo loves order more than anything, a place for everything and everything in its place.

Virgo is an Earth sign, cautious and practical, taking its time to create order (which it loves), and often has a tendency towards perfectionism.  The challenge for Virgo is not getting lost in the detail (which it is so good at) and as a result, losing sight of the overall vision, the classic “can’t see the wood (ie forest) for the trees”.

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.

Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 8.37pm Queensland time (AEST) at 6 degrees Virgo.

The Full Moon falls in Pisces on Sat 14 Sept 2019 at 21 degrees Pisces.  This is a dreamy, romantic time which can bring a yearning for oneness and spiritual fulfillment.  It can also be a wonderful time for creative projects to come to fruition. Just make sure you’re seeing things clearly and not as you’d wish to see them, through rose-coloured glasses!  Pisces is very good at self-deception, and not so good on boundaries.  Be careful of any Piscean tendencies to rescue other people – as opposed to empowering them.  As the Confucian saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to fish and you feed him for life”.  The Full Moon in Pisces urges us to find a balance between seeing the big picture and staying in touch with the details that ground the vision.  The Full Moon is exact at 2.33pm AEST, so the best night for Full Moon celebrations will be the previous evening while the energies are still building.

The lovers Venus and Mars have been celebrating their somewhat rare union in Virgo on Sat 24 Aug, and they continue together in this sign for the next few weeks.  For now, the lovers are in synch in a quiet and introspective way, tuned in to one another at a deep level and very much on the same page. After their reunion, Venus moves ahead of Mars and goes into Libra on Sat 14 Sept.  Libra is very much at home in Libra as it’s one of the signs she rules, characterized by a sense of refined beauty and aesthetic harmony.  She’s now feeling much more social than Mars, who stays in Virgo this whole lunar month, so there may be some friction between them after 14 Sept.

Saturn grinds to a halt on Wed 18 Sept following its recent retrograde period, ready to go direct again at 13 degrees Capricorn.  If your birthday is close to 4 Jan or this degree is significant in your chart, you will have been feeling the heavy energy of Saturn sitting on this point for the previous 3 weeks, with a further three weeks to look forward to (!).  The energy of Saturn asks us to re-evaluate the area of life it is currently contacting, to take full responsibility for ourselves and our actions, and to cut away any dead wood – which ultimately stimulates new growth.  It is also very good at demanding that we do a reality check.  The forward motion of Saturn enables us to test and put into practice over the next seven months whatever we have learned about social responsibility, self-discipline and material reality during its recent retrograde phase over the last four and a half months.

Meanwhile Pluto is pretty much stationary for the second half of Sept as it gears up to go direct at the beginning of October, so you may well be feeling the build-up of intensity, especially if you have chart points around 20 Capricorn.  More about this in next month’s newsletter!

The Equinox falls on Mon 23 Sept 2019 at 5.50pm AEST.  The theme of the Equinox is always about balance.  This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length (equi-nox means ‘equal night’ in Latin), the Sun rises due east, and the seasons come to a point of balance. This Equinox is marked by the Sun moving into the zodiac sign of Libra, the sign associated with harmony, balance and fairness.  In the Southern hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox, a time of rejoicing that winter is over and celebrating the birth of new life. With the Mega Virgo New Moon, this is an excellent time for a Spring Cleanse!  The seasons are reversed in the Northern hemisphere of course, where this is the Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest celebration, giving thanks for the abundant crops produced by the summer months.  Whether you are celebrating Spring or Autumn Equinox, this is a perfect time to reflect on your own life, explore what might be out of balance there and find a way to restore that, whether it’s in your relationships, your work or any other aspect of your life.

Looking ahead to next lunar month …

The next New Moon falls in Libra on Sun 29 Sept 2019 at 4.26am AEST (28 Sept in Europe and the Americas) at 5 Libra.

With love

Chirone

How do you limit yourself?

How do you limit yourself???

Saturn turns retrograde on Wed 18 April at 9 degrees Capricorn. This Saturn retrograde period lasts until Thurs 6 Sept 2018.

If your birthday falls around 30 December, this is likely to be a time of increased responsibility for you, especially for a month either side of 18 April, as you enter a new phase of maturity and step into a place of personal authority.  Your workload may well increase at this time – if you accept this extra responsibility, this can be a time of success and achievement.  Saturn is a planet where we truly reap what we sow – if you’ve put in the hard work, this is very likely to be a time of achievement.  However, if you’ve cut corners along the way, this is a time when you’re likely to come unstuck and this can lead to feelings of failure and depression. Accept the lessons of Saturn and learn to take full responsibility for yourself and your life.
