The SHIFT OF THE AGES

1  The players: Saturn and Jupiter move into Aquarius

Saturn has been in his home sign of Capricorn for the last 2.5 years, a pretty serious time of it all round, although he had a brief escape to Aquarius this year – you might remember that period when the oppressive nature of Covid seem to lift?  It was when we discovered that the air was suddenly beautifully clear, people could see the Himalayas for the first time in ages, rivers and streams ran clear once again, and the world seemed to pause and reassess everything – as if to say “Wow, this is what the future could be like?” 

Saturn had moved into Aquarius, an Air Sign, and it was like a breath of fresh air in our very constricted Covid existence.  Because the planes weren’t flying, we had to fall back on our local communities and rely on local produce to feed us – this sense of community is very Aquarian, part of the energy we’re moving into now.

Saturn only stayed a few months in Aquarius before he had to return to Capricorn for the last time.  The heaviness of that return was palpable, taking people back into a more burdened state of being.

Saturn moves into Aquarius for good (well, for the next 2.5 years) on Thurs 17 Dec, and I am sure that once again we’ll feel a lifting of that hugely oppressive energy that has beset us in the last nine months.

Jupiter is hot on Saturn’s heels, moving into Aquarius on Sat 19 Dec, and chasing Saturn down – they’re due to meet for their supremely historic conjunction on Tues 22 Dec at 4.20am AEST – for most writers based in Europe and the US that is of course Mon 21 Dec.  Jupiter is never very happy in Capricorn, and moving into Aquarius will be like a breath of freedom for him.

 

2.  THE GREAT MUTATION – A SHIFT OF THE AGES

Jupiter and Saturn join up for their historic Grand Conjunction just 8 hours after the Solstice, at zero degrees Aquarius.

This is a hugely momentous time, a real Shift of the Ages.

Jupiter and Saturn meet every 20 years, and those cycles in themselves are felt to be of huge significance in the evolution of society.

However there’s a much bigger cycle at work – the 20-year cycles fall in the same element for 240 years, and then there is a Great Mutation where the larger cycle shifts and changes element.  That is what is occurring now.  After the last 240 years of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions falling in Earth signs –  a heavy, solid, materialistic energy that spawned the Industrial Revolution and saw unprecedented exploitation of the Earth’s resources – these conjunctions are moving into the lighter, connected energy of Air signs, beginning with Aquarius. The last time we had a Great Mutation into Air signs was 1226, so you can see why it’s such a historic time.

In many ways we could argue that this shift now is the beginning of the much-heralded Age of Aquarius – there are many ways you can define that, but this would certainly be one of them (that plus Pluto moving into Aquarius in 2024, which will certainly add to the Aquarian nature of the times).  There is so much more I could say about this, about the implications for us and our lives (which I’ll go into in my Paradigm Shift webinar in January) but for now, know that this is truly a Shift of the Ages, that it’s amazing that we’re here to witness this, and that things are going to get much, much better!!!  It is so exciting!!!
