New Moon in Libra 2022

New Moon in Libra 2022

New Moon in Libra   Mon 26 Sept 2022 at 7.54am Queensland time (AEST) at 2 Libra

Full Moon in Aries   Mon 10 Oct 2022 at 6.54am Queensland time (AEST) at 16 Aries

.Skywatching   Mercury can be seen as a bright Morning Star around 8 Oct.  Saturn and Jupiter are visible after sunset in the eastern sky.

.

Things are starting to heat up. The eclipses are coming, starting at the end of October, bringing unexpected changes into our lives from this coming Full Moon onwards.  We enter the six-week eclipse season at this Full Moon.  Pluto and Saturn both turn direct this month, intensifying their energy during their stationary periods. Meanwhile Mars is starting to slow down, ready for his retro journey at the end of Oct.   The good news?  We have a new Venus Star Point forming on 23 Oct (AEST), in its home sign of Libra.

If you’re interested in the Asteroids and the newly-discovered dwarf planets, I have a new course coming up soon Astro*Goddesses where we’ll examine all the different faces of these feminine archetypes.  More info and registration

The New Moon falls in Libra on Mon 26 Sept bringing the opportunity to start a new cycle in your relationships and connections with others.

Libra is the sign of the born diplomat, the mediator who can always see both sides of any issue and wants the result to be harmonious. The symbol for Libra after all is the scales, where things can be weighed and balanced.

This New Moon in Libra is a good time to focus on restoring balance in your life, consolidating the theme of the Equinox last month, by implementing whatever changes are required to bring your life back into balance and harmony.

Libra is an Air sign, sociable and communicative, with a huge need for fairness.  It’s also one of the leadership signs, but its point of difference is that it doesn’t need to be out front – quite the contrary. The leadership style of Libra is inclusive and co-operative, making Libra an excellent leader.  The challenge however for Libra is decision-making!  They are so good at seeing all sides of the question that reaching a final decision can be agony for them, especially when they’re trying to keep everyone happy.  Because they hate disharmony, people-pleasing is often one of their main issues, not helped by their reluctance to confront and tackle any problem areas.  Embracing more of the assertiveness of their opposite sign Aries can be really helpful.

This New Moon is opposite Jupiter, suggesting that questions of abundance (do I have enough?) and trust (am I supported by the Universe?) are likely to come up in this lunar month.  This is an opportunity for you to actively integrate a sense of trusting the Universe, and a sense of having abundance in your life if you don’t yet experience this.  A gratitude practice can really help, where each morning you focus on all the things you’re grateful for in your life.

If your birthday is close to this New Moon, this marks the beginning of a significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.

If you have planets at 2 degrees of Libra, this marks the beginning of a new cycle in whatever that planet symbolises (eg responsibility for Saturn).

Remember to set your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of this New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 7.54am Queensland time (AEST) at 2 degrees Libra.

Supermoon Full Moon in Capricorn   Thurs 14 July 2022 at 4.37am Queensland time (AEST) at 21 Capricorn

.
July Lunar Phases & Moon Planting Guide ☘️🍃🎋

.

The New Moon in Cancer on Wed 29 June represents the opportunity for a new cycle to begin in relation to the feminine. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, symbolising women, mothering and the sacred feminine. This New Moon represents the beginning of a new cycle in the way we care for others, the way we nurture ourselves, and our relationship with women in general.

Cancer is a water sign, sensitive and emotional, with a strong need for emotional security. This is the sign associated with home and family, so this New Moon can also mark the beginning of a new sense of belonging, perhaps a new phase in our home and family life, or our sense of belonging to a ‘tribe’.

Cancer has a tenacious connection to the past – Cancerians don’t like to let go of anything! The New Moon in Cancer represents the beginning of a new phase in our relationship with the past, an opportunity to emotionally release whatever no longer serves us. The Australian Bush Flower Essence Bottlebrush is particularly good for supporting you to let go.

If your birthday falls close to the date of this New Moon, this marks an important year of new beginnings in your life, particularly with regard to your identity, your sense of self and your purpose in life.

If you have a planet close to 7 degrees Cancer (within a degree either side), a new cycle is starting in whatever that planet symbolises (eg relationships for Venus).

Remember to set your intentions for this lunar month within 24 hours of the New Moon. The New Moon is exact at 12.52pm AEST.

Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces

OceanJupiter – Neptune conjunction

.
Once every 13 years, Jupiter meets up with Neptune and the influence of their combined energies is felt strongly.

Neptune is a visionary, seeking unity, dissolving boundaries, and endlessly compassionate.

Jupiter enhances whatever it comes into contact with, making this combination a very potent humanitarian mix – even more so given that both planets are in Pisces where they are strengthened.

There’s also a desire for equality and egalitarianism, which has linked this conjunction with socialism in world history.

This Jupiter-Neptune conjunction could see a move away from the right-wing governments that came to power under the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of a few years ago.

The danger with Jupiter-Neptune is that the dream, the ideal, can simply be an illusion, so it is important to focus on strong, practical foundations for any plans envisioned now.

The conjunction is exact at 23 Pisces (almost 24 degrees) just after midnight on 13 April Queensland time, the previous day in Europe and the Americas.

Mars-Saturn: An end to the fighting in Ukraine?

Ares god of WarMars-Saturn conjunction

An end to the fighting in Ukraine?
.

Although the news has been horrendous since the invasion of Ukraine over a month ago, things may reach a turning point on Mon 4 April, when Mars catches up to Saturn at 22 Aquarius, the degree of Ukraine’s Moon – also the degree of Zelensky’s Midheaven, representing his standing in the world (and explaining his mass appeal in Ukraine).

Mars and Saturn are the two planets representing misfortune in traditional astrology – Mars is the god of War and Saturn is the Grim Reaper, a rather nasty combination.

However we could interpret this conjunction more positively as Saturn restricting and setting boundaries on warlike activities, even stopping it altogether.

And although we can’t be sure of his birth time (or even the date – as befits a previous head of the secret service!), the chart generally circulating for Putin has this same degree at its IC, which (if correct, and that’s a big ‘if’) could signify things coming to an end in a very personal way for Putin.

Here’s hoping that at the very least, this sees an end to the fighting.

Dredging up the dirt – Pluto stations to go direct

pluto symbol

When Pluto stations, a lot of “dirt” – buried secrets – is brought to the surface, and this Pluto station (maybe because it’s also been squaring Mercury) is being particularly active in this regard.  We’ve had the release of the Pandora Papers, the Facebook whistleblower testifying (and Lo & Behold, Facebook went offline exactly at that time!), exposées of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church in France, and of the WHO workers who sexually abused women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  There’s a lot of muck getting raked up.

Pluto goes direct on 7 Oct, having been pretty much stationary for the past month.  This is a time now when deeply-buried issues may finally rise to the surface, particularly if you’ve become more aware of them bubbling away in the last six months.  In fact they’re most likely to rise to the surface at this month’s Full Moon in Aries, see below.

Plutonian issues usually concern disempowerment, powerlessness and trauma, where the issues run deep.  Plutonian issues can also manifest as misuses or even abuses of power, it’s all to do with Pluto!  This time is well-suited to deep inner work, shifting these deep-seated issues so that you can at last move forward.  The key to moving through this is to become as aware as possible of our feelings and reactions, becoming conscious of how, on the one hand, we may give away our power, and on the other, how we may manipulate others to get our own way.   It can be really subtle, so to paraphrase Socrates, know thyself – and stay in the light!

If you have chart points at 24 degrees of Capricorn (or any of the other cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra) including birthdays around 14-15 Jan, you’ll be picking up on this intense transformational energy at a very personal level – in fact it’s been going on for the last year or two.  The good news is that it is finally easing for you as Pluto moves forwards and leaves this degree behind.  Hopefully you have faced the demons and can now step fully into your power.

More cracks in the system!!! Second Saturn-Uranus square 2021

More cracks in the system!!!

Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 11.26.56 am

The second Saturn–Uranus square is exact on 15 June AEST (14 June in Europe & the Americas). This is the Paradigm Shift hallmark signature of 2021 that began with the first square on 18 Feb (AEST), and is bringing yet more cracks to the system now!

The energy combination of the old (Saturn) vs the new (Uranus) is part of the massive polarization that is sadly playing out in so many different areas of society this year.

We discussed this earlier at the first square (see my blogpost) but just to give you a quick reminder of the kind of challenges associated with this Saturn-Uranus square: Regulation (Saturn) of the big tech companies (Uranus); mandatory laws (Saturn) vs individual rights and freedoms (Uranus) which seems to be playing out especially around the pandemic; the banking system (Saturn) vs cryptocurrency (Uranus).  These are just some examples, and all of these are still playing out big time –  it’s likely things could reach a “crunch” time at this second contact.

It’s possible that on some topics, you’ll side with Saturn, and on others you’ll side with Uranus, that’s natural.  However what the Universe is really inviting us to do, is to find a way through the polarization and integrate the positive expression of these two energies, such as providing a legal framework (Saturn) that supports innovation (Uranus). The second Saturn-Uranus square is at 13 degrees Aquarius/Taurus. So at a personal level, if you have 12-14 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) prominent in your chart, you’ll be feeling these tensions strongly.  Do you conform?  Or do you break free??  Or better still, can you find a middle way that allows freedom and authenticity yet still honours your responsibilities?

Cracks in the system – first Saturn-Uranus square

Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 11.26.56 am

The first of three Saturn–Uranus squares this year is exact on Thurs 18 Feb.  This energy combination of the old vs the new is the hallmark signature of 2021, and is certainly part of the massive polarization that is playing out in so many different areas of society.

Uranus is the planet of innovation, a new direction that disrupts the status quo, one that is usually exciting and renders the old systems obsolete, probably bringing them crashing down around our ears.  I call it “earthquake” energy because that’s what it feels like.  The old system is shaken up and has to crack open in order to let in the light, the light of conscious awareness and expose those hidden parts where maybe there have been misuses (or even abuses) of power.

Saturn is the planet that represents the status quothe old order, the entrenched system that may have become rigid and resistance to change.  To the old order, the prospect of the changes that Uranus is bringing is terrifying, as everything they know and hold dear could come crashing down!!!  Chaos!!!  And they’re right up to a point, because the lower vibration of Uranus is chaos and revolution, even anarchy.  So they try to resist the changes that are hurtling towards them.

Every planet has its higher and lower vibrations, and the cosmic invitation with this Saturn-Uranus square is to integrate the positive qualities of these two vastly different energies.

The higher vibration of Saturn is clear boundaries, responsibility and structure, such as providing frameworks, regulations and laws.  But one of the negative ways that Saturn can manifest is control, based in fear, so the question that arises is: is Saturn creating clear boundaries to protect people and protect society, or is it being repressive?

Similarly, is Uranus championing individual rights and freedoms, innovations and new technology that can benefit humanity, or is it being rebellious for the sake of it?  Or possibly even autocratic, another of Uranus’ negative faces?  How disruptive is this likely to be, and at what human cost?  Is anarchy on the cards?

The kind of challenges that we’re already seeing arising with this Saturn-Uranus square are:

  • Regulation (Saturn) of the big tech companies (Uranus)
  • Mandatory laws (Saturn) vs individual rights and freedoms (Uranus) (especially around the pandemic)
  • The banking system (Saturn) vs cryptocurrency (Uranus)

It’s possible that on some topics, you’d side with Saturn, and on others you’d side with Uranus, that’s natural.  However what the Universe is really inviting us to do, is to find a way through the polarization and integrate the positive expression of these two energies, such as providing a legal framework (Saturn) that supports an innovation (Uranus).

In the first exact Saturn-Uranus square, the Moon is close to Uranus, which suggests that people will identify more with Uranus, and that individual rights and personal freedoms are likely to be a hot topic during this first contact.

(If you’d like to hear more on this fascinating topic, I discuss the Saturn-Uranus squares of 2021 further in my Paradigm Shift webinar which is now available as a recording.)
